Candle TIPS + TRICKS
Do your candles contain paraffin?
Do your candles contain paraffin?
Nope! Our formulation is sustainably sourced and biodegradable.
How should I care for my candle?
How should I care for my candle?
We have proper candle care know-how, so follow these tips to ensure you create a positive reaction with each burn.
TIP #1: Trim your candle wick to 1/4" each time you light.
- The first time you burn a candle, let it burn until the wax pool melts all the way to the edge. For a larger candle this may take a few hours. Wax has "memory," so if is extinguished with just a partial pool, it will struggle to ever get to a complete melt pool. Sometimes this takes some planning ahead but will make a huge difference in candle performance
TIP #2: Burn your candle for at least 4 to 6 hours before extinguishing.
- Trim your wick each time you light the candle, removing any wick 'bloom' from the previous burn. We like 1/4"-1/2". Our wicks are crafted to self-extinguish at the bottom 1/2" or so, for safety.
Light and unwind.
Why is there wax left over in my candle vessel?
Why is there wax left over in my candle vessel?
Our wicks are designed to self-extinguish about a quarter of an inch above the very bottom of the wax, and are glued to the bottom of the vessel so they can't float around. We do this - in addition to extensive R&D and testing - to ensure our candles burn beautifully and safely from first light to last flicker.
How do I use my candle refill?
How do I use my candle refill?
Are you starting with an approved Good Chemistry glass for this refill? Ok, now...
- 01 Remove refillable candle from packaging by pushing the bottom of the refill container upward and ever so gently pulling out the candle by the wick.
- 02 Place refill in the clean, Good Chemistry glass. That’s it, you’re done! Enjoy!
TIP: Place refill 15 to 30 minutes in the refrigerator or freezer before step 1.
Caution! This container is flammable. Do not burn the refill in this container or on its own. Do not microwave or melt. Paper cup refillable not intended for food or drink reuse.
Can I use the candle refill in any vessel?
Can I use the candle refill in any vessel?
Unfortunately, no. Our candle refills are specifically created and tested for our Reusable Glass Candle vessel.
We cannot guarantee the refill will burn properly or safely in any other vessel.
